Obituary of Weston Gourley

Weston James Gourley, born April 5, 1926 passed away on May 12, 2014 the Treasure Coast Hospice Harper House in Stuart, FL. He was born in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Nelson Albert Gourley and Gladys (Phelps) Gourley. He was predeceased by a brother, Dean. Wes was a resident of Stuart, FL and a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Port Salerno, FL. He was a graduate of the class of 1944A, Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA, and the University of Hartford (formerly known as Hillyer College). Wes had served as a control tower operator in the US Navy during World War 2 and continued as chief controller at Bradley Field in Windsor Locks, CT and at that time joined Hartford Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. Wes retired from the engineering department of the Travelers Insurance Company in 1986. Wes had a great interest and love of boating and cruising. He has been a member of Anchor Line Yacht Club for a number of years. Wes leaves his loving wife of 61years, Regina Sobuta Gourley. He is also survived by his son Christopher and his wife Donna, son Scott, and a daughter Teri Mitchell, and two beautiful and adored granddaughters, Tera Tronsky Harlow and Kristen Tronsky Augusten. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Port Salerno, FL on Friday, May 16 at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3201 W Commercial Boulevard, Suite 127, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.
