Obituary of William Brinkley

William A. Brinkley, 90, of Palm City, passed away May 14, 2009 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. He was born March 30, 1919 in Moody, TX. He was a long time resident of the Orlando area, moved to Eustis, and now resided in Palm City for the past 6 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years service as a Lt. Colonel. He was the Chief of Quality and Reliability for unmanned launch operations at NASA, and was involved with the early space program at Cape Canaveral in the 1960's. During the Korean War he was a search and rescue pilot.

He was a member of Palm City Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Stella R. Brinkley of Palm City; daughter, Tina Boswell and her husband, Bill of Palm City; grandchildren, Lisa Brinkley, Lucas Brinkley, Matt Boswell and Kelly Boswell.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Brinkley.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 4:00PM, Saturday at Palm City Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL
