Obituary

William "Bill" Logan Corbett, 83, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, passed away in his home on April 18, 2023.

Bill was born on May 17, 1939, in St. Paul Minnesota to Joseph Corbett and Faye (Jensen) Corbett.
Bill met his best friend and soulmate, Antionia Corbett in Wichita, Kansas.  They married in July 1977 and together they raised a blended family of 9 biological and adopted children.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Corbett and Faye Corbett,  his children; Baby Joseph Corbett and Mary Corbett, and his grandson Billy Corbett.

Bill grew up in St. Paul Minnesota.  He graduated from Ramsey High School in 1957  and joined the United States Air Force in 1958.  Bill served in Tokyo, Japan as a radio controller, (and occasional bass guitarist in the AF  band).  Bill was honorably discharged in 1962 and would eventually settle in Wichita, Kansas where he joined the Air National Guard and worked as a Flight Controller at McConnell AFB before becoming a mail carrier and raising his family until moving to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1987.  He retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service in 1999.

Bill was an avid boxing fan.  He combined his passion for boxing and his love of people when he started the Gentlemen Jim's Boxing Club, he would later become known as "Coach" to countless young people in the Port Saint Lucie community as a boxing coach for Police Athletic League.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Antionia Corbett, and his children; William K. Corbett, Kim Corbett - Hurst, Vaughn  Swink (Veronique), Douglas Corbett, Darren Swink (Dana), Elizabeth  Swink-Rizzo (David), Rebbeka Corbett-Mull, and Krista Corbett-Johnson (Floyd),
his big brother Jim Corbett (Patty), his little sister Sherry Corbett-Carlson, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Bill was a man who loved to be on the go, loved a well-manicured lawn, loved to golf, and found so much joy in telling a good story. He adored his wife and enjoyed spinning around the dance floor with her, and he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and friends.  We were all blessed to know him, to love him, and to be loved by him.  We will miss him dearly.   --
