Obituary of William Gleason
William J. Gleason, 85, of Palm City, FL, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, FL.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he had been a resident of Palm City for 19 years coming from Massapequa, NY.
He was a retired accountant who served as comptroller of several car dealerships on Long Island.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City and was the treasurer of the SMARTS Travel Group, Stuart and volunteered at the Carpenter's Kitchen at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Arlene Gleason of Palm City; his daughters, Kathleen Rupp and her husband Thomas of St. James, NY and Barbara Gleason of New York City; his son, William J. Gleason and his wife Cynthia of New York; his brothers, James Gleason of St. Petersburg, FL and Robert Gleason and his wife Kathleen of Port St. Lucie; his sister, Mary Goodman of Schenectady, NY and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Gleason Fairbanks; his son, John J. Gleason and his sister, Joan Gleason.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Forest Hill Funeral Home, Palm City with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Butterfly Garden, Palm City.
