William Clifford Kunnath peacefully fainted into the arms of Jesus, on February 28 surrounded by family after a long illness.

Bill was born at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan on February 4, 1934. His early boyhood was spent in Detroit and later in Belleville, Michigan.

He joined the Michigan National Guard, the Army, then on to the Air Force serving in Fort Huachuca, AZ as an airport tower operator - Infantry.

Always interested in airplanes and flying he went to school at Northrup to become an A & P Mechanic. After completing those requirements, the school offered him a full scholarship to study Aeronautical Engineering. Which he did. He particularly enjoyed drawing and designing airplane wings. However, after completing all this schooling he realized he could earn a better living for his family as a car salesman and began his business career. He founded a leasing company, an insurance company, and was a co-investor of a Christian Book Distributorship, a PODS franchise holder in New England and started 30 plus companies which he fondly said "some worked and some didn't".

His interests were varied. He enjoyed baseball (would have liked to be a major catcher) but wasn't chosen. Swimming and scuba diving along with boating, fishing, flying airplanes, cars including race cars, multiple horses both for pleasure and racing, guns, football, music, art, mathematics, history, philosophy and life long learning were his passions.

Always the student he loved reading the Bible and talking to others about it and how the Holy Spirit had changed and was changing his life. He enjoyed having Bible studies in his office board room where many local businessmen participated and rotated through the group. We understand the group is in existence 40 years later with two of the original businessmen still participating. He also was used by the Holy Spirit to influence many people around the world to God's glory.

He is survived by wife, Vera, sons; Gary Bradford (Cheech) and two grandsons; Daniel O'Hara (Denise) and two granddaughters; Christopher O'Hara; and Daughters: Vikki Gysin (Tim) and two grandsons and three great grandchildren; Paula Swanson and three grandsons, Dorothy Cantrell (Tom) and one daughter and two sons.

Bill always said to our children "focus on your marriage commitment". In remembering this, a poem written to Bill on our January wedding day seemed appropriate to share today.

January is the perfect time for the birth of the blending of our lives here on earth

With our friends and family gathered round us today, We'll meet at the altar our vows to relay

To confirm to God what we already know and pray that His Blessings on us He'll bestow

As my hand and my heart extend out to you, I know yours is reaching out too

My wishes, my dreams, they have all come true with the joy and beauty of knowing you.

You're the beginning, the present and the end of my day, You're the wonder of love, growing, meant to stay.

There's a quiet place, where love can renew where the world doesn't reach; that quiet place, Bill, is with you.

Today as we look in each other's eyes we know that someone wonderful and wise has joined our hands together now for His special work we know not how.

With love today and all our tomorrows.

In reflection over the forty years which have passed since this was written, we can confess that God has gracefully Blessed us both. Through our lives blended together we can see relationships with others that have touched us deeply and hopefully we have touched others as well.
