Obituary of Willis Weaver Jr

Willis Weidler Weaver, Jr., 90, passed away December 22, 2014 at Treasure Coast Hospice after a long battle with various health problems.

Willis was born in West Chester, PA to Willis and Isabelle Weaver. He attended Penn State University until WWII took him to the battlefields of Italy and Africa, for which he received a purple heart and various other medals and citations.

After the war he moved to Morristown, NJ and managed the Old Mill Inn and later owned and operated the Town House Restaurant for many years. Later in life he served as a substance abuse counselor at St. Clarke's Hospital in Denville, NJ until relocating to Palm City in 1989. He continued his gift of inspiring others by working with ADAP in Martin County. Mr. Weaver was also a very talented drummer and worked with many well known and local bands.

Willis is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Kathryn; daughters, Wanda Zieker and Willisa Houlihan; stepdaughters. Wendy Howard, Cindy Pagano, Kara McGuire, Aislinn Frey, Jennifer Bredin; stepsons, Gary Happe, Terry Happe, Glen Happe, John McGuire, Shamus McGuire, Richard Wade, Jr. He is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Mr. Weaver has been a member of the Masons since young adulthood and was a former elder and very active in the Palm City Presbyterian Church.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00AM at Palm City Presbyterian Church.

A Memorial Service will also be held at a later date in Morristown, NJ.
