Xenia M
Pappas
Dec 16, 1927 — Jan 8, 2020
Titusville
Xenia Pappas, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 8, 2020, at the age of 92. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Charles and Catherine Didymos, she and her sister, Despina, grew up in New York and New Jersey, where Xenia graduated from Emerson High School and Jersey City State College. In college, she was an honor student and an enthusiastic basketball player. She was passionate about sports – her favorite teams being the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Heat, the Florida Gators, and the UCF Knights.
Xenia married Andrew Pappas on July 3, 1949; they were blessed with sixty wonderful years together where they fully loved and supported each other. Her children are Peter (married to Robyn), Cathy (married to Gus) and Stephanie (married to Butch). They have eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a loving, extended family. She was a positive example of a strong, intelligent mother and grandmother (Yiayia); she loved her family unconditionally and was everyone's most loyal ally. She was a wonderful role-model and mentor to all who knew and loved her.
Xenia and her family moved to North Miami, Florida in 1961, where she taught 4 th grade at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. She moved to Jensen Beach, Florida in 1990, and finally moved to Titusville, Florida six years ago, to be closer to her family. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Ft. Pierce, for many years, where friends and family may make donations, if desired.
Visitation and a celebration of her life is 11:30 Saturday morning, January 18, at Forest Hills in Palm City, followed by a Greek Orthodox funeral service at 12:30.
