Zsuzsa Deek Starita of Stuart died April 11, 2022 at the age of 77.

She was born in Budapest, Hungary and immigrated to the United States at the age of 12 with her parents and sister.  Her free spirit found a home as a talented art director in Philadelphia. Later here in Stuart, her creativity helped raise significant funds for the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast.

Being thrown from a horse left Zsuzsa with life-time injuries, but those disabilities never disabled her. She was the personification of grit and determination.

Zuszsa's husband, Dick who died in 2020, regaled her with his tales of sports car racing, sail boat racing, and flying in Viet Nam as a two time top gun, United States Air Force pilot. Which, inspired her to immerse herself in reading and watching stories about his favorite things. She would say Dick introduced her to the most splendid thing…. her Catholic religion. She found both joy and peace in her Catholic faith.

Zsuzsa was a loyal, true friend with a vibrant smile to light up a room. She will be missed by Niece Adrianne Smith, Stepchildren Rebecca Mattison, Alan Starita and wife Wendy Starita and many friends …. Carol, Lisa, Harriett, Lena and Kathy and many others.

A Mass for Zsuzsa is being held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11am at St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
